Easter weekend is almost here, and this year it's right at the start of the holidays. And that’s good, as it gives kids two weeks to work off all that chocolate before heading back to school.
There's plenty going on around Luton to keep kids active and entertained over the Easter break. Let’s take a look at what’s on.
Dive camps
Is your child a confident swimmer and ready to explore a thrilling new aquatic activity?
Our popular dive camps are back this Easter. If your child has completed Stage 5 in their swimming lessons and can swim without goggles in deep water, then they’re ready to dive.
Our camps are a fun, exciting and sociable way to develop new skills. Each session is two hours, with the first hour spent in the pool and the second in the special dry-dive area.
Camps run from Monday 8th April - Thursday 11th April. Each session is £20.40 per person, and you can come along to as many as you want.
Find out more, including the session timings and how to book, right here.
Gladiator Run
We are ready at Inspire! hope the staff at Inspire are ready for what will hit them on Tuesday 9th April. Not only do we have two Dive Camp sessions, but we also have the return of our famous family-favourite, the Gladiator Run on Tuesday 9th April.
Will you and your kids have what it takes to slide, crawl and climb across the course? There’s only one way to find out…
Our sessions are 10:15 – 11:00am and 11:15am – 12:00pm. Tickets are first come, first served, and you can queue from 20 minutes before the start of the session.
There’s no lower age limit - children will simply be asked to complete a competency test before being allowed on the Gladiator Run, as it’s in the 2m deep Competition Pool.
If children aren’t quite ready for the Gladiator Run just yet, find out about Fun Time Splash sessions over Easter here.
Energise Holiday Camps
There’s plenty of excitement to be had this Easter, with all sorts going on at the Energise Camps.
Children can energise their bodies with football, cricket, dance, swimming, climbing and more. And there’ll be plenty to energise their minds, with all sessions involving some enriching creative and crafty activities. There are also activities focused on building brain power, including tuition clubs and drama classes.
Kids on Free School Meals go free, while sessions at Active Luton centres are open to all, with paid spaces available.
Check out full information including prices, and book your sessions on on the Active Luton Energise page. All sessions include a tasty and nutritious meal and are a fantastic opportunity to make new friends.
It’s full swing at Stockwood Park Golf Centre
“What other people may find in poetry or art museums, I find in the flight of a good drive.”
Those are the words of golf legend, Arnold Palmer. And though he may be gone, his message lives on in the heart of every golfer. For them, nothing beats the joy of their golf ball soaring through the air and landing exactly where they aimed.
And kids feel this joy too, the first time they swing a club and get the ball off the ground. This Easter, why not bring them down to Stockwood Park Golf Centre, where our Golf Pro, Mark, will give them a free assessment? Email proshop@activeluton.co.uk or telephone 01582413704 to book yours.
Kids and families who are a little more experienced will love our Academy course. 9 short and sweet holes that provide a fun and accessible challenge that you can finish in under an hour. Check out the prices here.
If you love the idea of a family golf trip but aren’t sure about swinging a golf club, then give Footgolf a try. Kicking a football is much easier, right? If kids are into footy, then this is sure to test their skills in a new and fun way.
Real Play at Luton Libraries
If you find yourself at a loose end on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening, and the weather’s not looking good, then pop down to one of the Luton Libraries.
Real Play sessions are ideal for families with children aged 5-7 to play and learn together. You’ll find all kinds of creative and physically active games and activities.
There’s no need to book, and you can even borrow your kids’ favourite activities to play at home. Find out where you can join a Real Play session here.
All of us at Active Luton wish you and your family a Happy Easter, and we hope you enjoy all the activities on offer.
