Our Active Education Team is here to inspire and empower your staff, enhancing the quality of PE in your school. With a wealth of knowledge, experience, and creative talent, we offer a range of services tailored to meet your unique needs.
We understand that every school is different. That's why we create bespoke training programmes and tailor-made training days to suit your specific requirements. If you can't find exactly what you're looking for, just ask us about our personalised opportunities!
Our Team Teaching programme is designed to build both confidence and skills, providing teachers with the tools they need to deliver high-quality PE safely and effectively. We work closely with your school to develop a customised programme that fits your needs.
Ensure your PE curriculum meets the latest National Curriculum standards. Our team collaborates with your PE subject lead to review and enhance current plans, making recommendations and signposting valuable resources to meet your pupils' needs.
Our experts deliver targeted lessons to your staff, followed by dynamic Q&A sessions that promote discussion, share knowledge, and address any concerns. These sessions are a fantastic way to inspire your team and elevate their teaching skills.
We provide comprehensive health and safety advice to ensure safe practice in all PE activities, keeping both students and staff secure.
We can also deliver a range of leadership opportunities throughout all key stages. All opportunities can be tailored to suit the needs of your pupils and school. Courses aim to develop the confidence and potential of young children, so that they can safely lead games and promote physical activity at break and lunch times.
Competitions can be planned and run for any year group from reception through to year 6. Typically a number of activity stations are organised and the children rotate around the activities. These can be multi-skills based or sport/activity specific. The team has run athletics, football and tennis-based skills and will often run these when a national or World sporting event is taking place such as the Commonwealth Games, the Olympics, Wimbledon and the Rugby World Cup. This provides an excellent opportunity for Play Leaders to put their leadership skills to good use introducing, demonstrating and scoring the activities while motivating the children to do their best.
Many schools choose to have a ‘Healthy Schools’ focus day or week. The team can provide support to deliver activities to a variety of year groups.
A typical day’s support may include, First Aid workshops focusing on keeping safe and what to do in an emergency or a focus on being active and things that can be undertaken at home.
We work with our healthy lifestyles team to deliver interventions and sessions in schools to either targeted groups or whole classes. Sessions might include healthy lunches, sneaky sugar and the 5 ways to wellbeing.
Designed for delivery in schools and aimed specifically at children, our First Aid for Children programme teaches children a basic knowledge of First Aid. It can be adapted according to the time available and number of classes/pupils and is fully cross-referenced with the National Curriculum.
The programme is designed to teach children the principles of recognising various medical emergencies and how to keep a person safe until help arrives. Programmes can be tailored to schools’ individual requirements and content adapted for children from reception up to year 11.
