You’ll lead inductions, supervise the gym floor, give safe and effective advice, and support our health and wellbeing programmes, while helping to set up equipment and keep the gym clean and welcoming. You’ll need a Level 2 Gym Instruction qualification (REPS accredited, gained within the last2 years), good communication skills, and a confident, customer-focused approach. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Active Partnership team, working with Senior Relationship Managers and the Insight and Impact Manager to support place-based work across Luton, Bedford and Central Bedfordshire in tackling inequalities and increasing physical activity. The role focuses on evidencing impact through insight-led decision making, effective use of impact measurement systems, and analysis of varied data sources, with strong Excel skills and ideally experience of data visualisation tools. You will take an innovative approach to gathering community feedback, understand the role of Be Active in supporting the Sport England Strategy, and show a clear commitment to adding value to a successful team.

Activity Assistant/Lifeguard

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Activity Assistant/Lifeguard to support the day-to-day running of our leisure centres and deliver excellent customer service. The role involves supervising activities, carrying out lifeguarding and poolside safety duties, preparing and maintaining equipment and activity areas, assisting with events, and completing basic records and reports. You should be friendly and confident with the public, have a good understanding of health and safety, work well as part of a team, and have some experience in a leisure or customer service environment. You must be physically fit, a confident swimmer, and able to communicate clearly in English, with the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification being desirable.
