Type: First Aid at Work Annual Skills Update
The HSE recommend that all 'First Aiders' attend annual refresher training on the basis of evidence that First Aid skills fade.
This training applies to all holders that have attended the First Aid at Work and Emergency First Aid at Work training courses.
Dates & Venues
The course is aimed at candidates on any changes in techniques which have been adopted since they attended their qualification course. It assesses the skills and the underpinning knowledge of each candidate and gives them the opportunity to practise these skills required to carry out First Aid within the workplace.
Half Day (3 hours contact)
Who should do the course
Anyone who is required to hold a First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work qualification within their designated workplace.
Candidates will be trained and Assessed by HSE Approved Trainer Assessors throughout the duration of the training course. Candidates will be required to demonstrate a number of practical skills and answer questions designed to test underpinning knowledge.

Action in an Emergency
Management of an Unconscious Casualty
Adult resuscitation (Basic Life Support)
Control of Bleeding
Management of Choking
Recognition and Treatment of medical conditions
Record Keeping and First Aid Boxes
Candidates must hold a valid First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work qualification. This will need to be produced before acceptance on to the course.
Must be able to undertake practical activity involving kneeling and lying down
All Active Luton courses are delivered and assessed in English. Tutors must be convinced that you have sufficient fluency in written and spoken English to cope with your course from the start.
