Active Luton is required [by law] to protect the public funds it administers. It may share information provided to it with other bodies responsible for; auditing, or administering public funds, or where undertaking a public function, in order to prevent and detect fraud.

The Cabinet Office is responsible for carrying out data matching exercises.

Data matching involves comparing computer records held by one body against other computer records held by the same or another body to see how far they match. This is usually personal information. Computerised data matching allows potentially fraudulent claims and payments to be identified. Where a match is found it indicates that there is an inconsistency which requires further investigation. No assumption can be made as to whether there is fraud, error or other explanation until an investigation is carried out.

Active Luton participates in the Cabinet Office’s National Fraud Initiative: a data matching exercise to assist in the prevention and detection of fraud. We are required to provide particular sets of data to the Minister for the Cabinet Office for matching for each exercise, as detailed here.

The use of data by the Cabinet Office in a data matching exercise is carried out with statutory authority under Part 6 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014. It does not require the consent of the individuals concerned under the Data Protection Act 1998.

VACANCIES  


Community Navigator

Salary: £24,964 - £27,668

Full time – 37 hrs per week (occasional evenings and weekends)

Social Prescription (SP) is a new way of linking patients with sources of support.  The Community Navigator will work closely with GPs to support individuals to access and connect with appropriate services and activities within the Community, Voluntary and Statutory sectors.  The focus of the service is on prevention and early intervention to empower people to take control of their health and wellbeing.

This post will be based predominantly within one GP cluster, working in GP practices serving key neighbourhoods.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of Active Luton’s community wellbeing strategy through the signposting of patients and supporting the development of additional programmes that meet the needs of the community.

Swim Teacher

Salary: Up to £9,999

Part-Time

Active Luton are looking for a Swim Teacher to deliver a high quality swimming teaching service. This role will need you to be able to enhance swimming development while working effectively as a team and deliver the Active Luton Swimming Teaching Plans.

We are looking for someone who has experience of planning and delivering teach activities to a wide range of ages and abilities in a leisure environment.

You’ll need to be able to work within procedures, guidelines and quality standards and be a fantastic communicator.

The ideal candidate will need to be able to produce clear and simple documents and reports and be a great planner who is able to work with minimal supervision and as a good team player.

You will have the opportunity to develop on your already existing knowledge of Health and Safety, NOP’s and EAP’s.

We do ask that you have Amateur Swimming Association Teachers Certificate Level 2 and you are able to prepare and set up any equipment required for the course as well as being able to work evenings and weekends on most occasions to meet customer needs.

Sports Maintenance Assistant

Salary: Up to £9,999

Part-Time

Active Luton are looking for someone who will perform the maintenance and cleanliness of the 3g pitch an surrounding area.

You’ll be working under direction and supervision and your role will also involve maintaining and setting up sports equipment in support of programme and booking.

We are looking for someone who has experience on 3g pitchs and able to handle and move activity equipment.

The ideal candidate will need to be polite and able to deal with a wide range of people and work within well established procedures.

You’ll need to be able to read documents and record basic written information and we do ask that you are able to drive a small tractor.

Activity Leader

Salary: £16,123 - £17.072 a year plus shift allowance

Part-Time

Looking for your next step in Leisure operations? If you’re ambitious, flexible, committed and passionate then this role could be for you!

We’re looking for someone to work within the operational team, coordinating the day to day running of the facility.

The day is varied including liaising with customers, setting up sessions, poolside duties and ensuring the operational requirements of the facility are met.

To be successful in this role you will be required to have experience of working in a Leisure environment, working as part of a team and hold a NPLQ qualification.

Full,  Part-time & Casual Activity Lifeguard Assistant

Full  Part Time and casual positions available.  Competitive salary up to £15,246 per year working up to 37 hour week

You will be involved in promoting Active Luton’s recreation centres in a multicultural environment and helping to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the users of the centres. Your duties will include life guarding, erecting and dismantling sports equipment and ensuring the cleanliness of the centre and the safety of the general public following all relevant Active Luton policies and procedures.

You must have a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification also preferably have experience of dealing with the public, ideally in a leisure environment.

Hours will be worked on a shift rota basis, which include evenings and weekends.
