This can also be organised as a bespoke course and can be run either in Active Luton Venues or your Venue.
To equip the candidates with the knowledge and skills to understand their responsibilities, maintain water quality, and safely operate a swimming pool and associated plant.
Level 2 Award: 2 mandatory units
Who should do the course?
Staff working in sports and recreation organisations who need to be trained to a nationally recognised standard. Aimed at those who are responsible for the day to day safe operation of a swimming pool and plant.
Course work, worksheets, practical demonstration & assignment
Health & Safety Requirements
Cleaning, Hygiene, Contamination & Pollution
Principles of the basic circulation system
Operating components of the pool plant
Testing of Pool Water
Filtration and Disinfection of the pool water
Candidates should be in a position where they will be able to operate the swimming pool plant.
After the course, candidates will be required to undertake practical assignments back in the workplace and submit evidence to verify this.
All Active Luton Courses are delivered in English. Tutors must be convinced that you have sufficient fluency in written and spoken English to cope with your course from the start.

It is recommended that holders of the qualification should attend CPD training to reduce the impact of skills fade.
