General Admissions Policy
Children under eight must be closely supervised in the water by at least one adult (over 18) for every two children. Children over eight can swim unaccompanied.
Inspire Competition Pool Admissions policy
The competition pool is not suitable for young, weak or non-swimmers due to the depth of water (2m with no shallow end), and the lower water temperature.
During public swimming sessions (with the exception of Family Swims and Leisure Swims in 0.86m depth – see below), children under 8 are not allowed.
Under 8's CAN swim in the full competition pool if they have passed a FREE ASA Pool swimming standard award (bookable at reception).
Inspire Family Swim and Leisure Swimming Admissions
Children under 8 can swim in Family Swim/Leisure Swim sessions when the competition pool is restricted to 18m and a depth of 0.86m. They must be supervised in the water by at least one adult aged 18+ for every two children.
Responsibility lies with the supervising adult to monitor their children to ensure that the lower temperature of the competition pool has no adverse effects.
Under 8’s are allowed in the competition pool for school lessons and Hydra Learn swimming lessons when the pool floor is raised and the time spent in the water is limited to 30 / 45 minutes.
Welcoming Swimmers with Disabilities & Special Requirements
We welcome people with disabilities and special needs to general swimming sessions and our specialist sessions and have a hoist to help with access to the pool. If you would like to use the pool hoist, please notify reception when paying for your session and they will inform the lifeguard to assist you. Please contact us if you would like to discuss your needs in more detail.
