Inspire: Luton Sports Village opened in 2012 to replace a number of older facilities around Luton which didn’t meet Sport England accessibility or competition standards.  Inspire was designed to be fully accessible for all sectors of the community – from elite swimmers, divers and athletes right through to people with disabilities or long term conditions who benefit from our health and wellbeing programmes.

Helen Barnett, Chief Executive of Active Luton, commented: ‘Inspire: Luton Sports Village has established itself as a real community hub of activity.  You will see elite athletes alongside mums and tots, school children on swimming lessons, people keeping fit after work and people with long term conditions on rehabilitation programmes.  It really is a centre for all and continues to make a big difference to the opportunities available to everyone in Luton to get active.’

Cllr Rachel Hopkins, Portfolio Holder for public health at Luton Borough Council, said: “Inspire has been a wonderful addition to the Luton community for the last five years, the centre provides high quality leisure facilities and the Active Luton team have supported thousands of local residents to be more active.

"As part of the Luton Investment Framework, we want to ensure Luton residents have access to high quality leisure facilities, and we're really proud that Inspire is a world class, state of the art centre, offering lots of opportunities to be involved in a range of sports. This birthday is a great opportunity for the local community to come together, celebrate and enjoy activities for the whole family."
