Entry Requirements

As a professionally approved and accredited qualification, requiring the support of various risk assessments, safe systems of work documents and insurance this qualification is officially for the 'workplace' and therefore candidates will need to be of working age. Where those of 'pre-force' working age require a suitable qualification then a community type qualification would be more suitable.

Candidates must be at least 16 years of age at the commencement of the course.

Must be able to undertake practical activity involving kneeling and lying down.

All Active Luton courses are delivered and assessed in English. Tutors must be convinced that you have sufficient fluency in written and spoken English to cope with your course from the start.

No previous first aid experience is required. This comprehensive course will equip candidate with the skills and knowledge required to carry out first aid within the workplace. This qualification has been approved by the HSE as complying with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. Re-assessment is required every 3 years – candidates can renew by attendance at a Refresher course (12 hour contact) providing that the qualification is in date. HSE guidance also recommends that all holders of this qualification undertake a Skills Update session on an annual basis (3.5 hours minimum).

Awarding body: IQL - RLSS UK

Validity Period

36 months.

The HSE recommend that all First Aiders attend annual refresher training to help reduce the impact of 'first aid skills fade’.
